Attorney Chris Donovan joined the firm as an associate in 2005 and became a partner in 2012. Attorney Donovan is a 2005 graduate of Marquette University Law School. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science in 2002.
Attorney Donovan's area of specialty is criminal defense in both the state and federal court systems, but he also works on civil rights cases, victim’s rights issues, and other civil matters. He has successfully handled hundreds of trial level cases, argued 14 cases in the federal Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago, and took one client’s case all the way to the United States Supreme Court in 2014.
He is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Wisconsin, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
His affiliations include the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association (executive committee member), the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (board member), the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Wisconsin State Bar.
